Who we are

Higher State Events (“Higher State”, “we”) is an events brand based in Surrey, England, and is the data controller for the personal data described here. For anything data-related, email hello@higherstateevents.com.

What we collect, and why

When you join the email list we collect your email address, which page you signed up from (so we know which event you care about) and when you signed up. That's it — we don't ask for your name and we don't buy or scrape data from anywhere else.

We use it for one thing: emailing you about Higher State events — dates, line-ups, tickets and announcements. Our lawful basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). Signup is double opt-in: we only email you after you confirm from your inbox, and unconfirmed addresses are never mailed.

You can withdraw consent at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link, or just email us at hello@higherstateevents.com.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. A small session flag in your browser remembers that you've seen the opening animation; it identifies nothing about you.

We measure site traffic with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that uses no cookies and no device fingerprinting. Visitor counts are derived on the server from your IP address and browser type using a salt that rotates daily, so visits can't be tracked across days or sites.

Where your data lives

Your signup is stored on our email platform and the site is hosted by Render. We use these providers only to run the list and the site; nobody gets your email address for their own use, and we never sell data.

Tickets are sold through Skiddle. When you buy a ticket you deal with Skiddle directly, under their privacy policy — we don't receive your payment details.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving email immediately and your address is removed from the active list.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it's used, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@higherstateevents.com and we'll sort it — no forms, no fuss, within one month.
